The Dasani Golf Gala visits the par-72, 18-hole Karen Country Club, the most populous golf club in Kenya, today.

This will be the third event on the Gala’s calendar which started at the Njoro Country Club before visiting Sigona last weekend. Five teams of four golfers each will qualify from Karen to the Dasani Golf Gala Grand Finale, to be held on the October 22 at Muthaiga.

Among the top teams vying for the qualification slots are Kenya Open Golf Chairman Peter Kanyago, Mwangi Muthee, Steve Waruhiu and Charles Lofty.

The team of Karen Club captain Mike Davidson, Brian Sandler, David Tyrell and A Duncanson take to the course in the morning as will the team of fighter pilot S Shava and Ngoregamba Mwebesa.

John Musunga, Lawrence Kiambi, David Kiambi and Mike Agengo tee off in the afternoon as will the team of Coutts Otolo, B Terer and Steve Lyoba.

Coca-Cola’s Pamela Mutua said the Dasani Golf Gala has gained immense popularity among the golfing fraternity.

"Karen will be our third venue and already we are getting rave reviews from the golfers," she said. "We are confident that by the time of the Grand Finale in October, finalists will be looking forward to winning the top prize, a trip to South Africa for the Gary Player Invitational," she said.

The Dasani Golf Gala will be played at different golf clubs each weekend until the Finale where the winning team will book tickets to the Gary Player Invitational to be held at the Fancourt Golf Resort in George, South Africa. The Gala will move to the Kenya Railway Golf Club next weekend before heading North to the Eldoret Golf Club in a fortnight.
