Gor Mahia are out of the 2024-2025 CAF Champions League.

The record Kenyan champions were shown dust after losing 6-0 on aggregate to Egyptian giants Al Ahly in the second preliminary round on Saturday.

Carry a 3-0 advantage from their win in Nairobi, Al Ahly needed a draw or win of any sort to book their ticket to the group stages.

The giants truly showed why they are the record Champions League winners when they whipped K’Ogalo 3-0 in the second leg played at the Cairo International Stadium.

Rebi Salim, Wessam Abou and Taher Mohammed scored for the North African giants who easily sailed into the group stages in pursuit of their record 13th African title.

In the game, the hosts took the lead inside the opening 30 minutes after an early pressure on the Gor Mahia defense saw Al Ahly find the back of the net in the 22nd minute through Rahim Rabi, who headed in the ball from a short-taken corner.

Leading 1-0 at the break, Gor’s fate was all but sealed but Al Ahly were not yet done as Al Ahly capitalized on the visitors' defensive sloppiness in the 53rd minute, extending their lead when Wessam Abou Ali converted Akram Tawfik's assist.

Second-half substitute Taher Mohamed sealed the win late on.

Kenya’s representatives in the continental games, Kenya Police FC in Confederations Cup and now Gor in Champions League have both bowed out of the CAF show piece events.
