The Kenyan education quality level is slowly losing its value.
Many people have degrees and some even higher qualifications but their suffering is untold. In the past, one who has such papers was given first priority and would be seen as superior because of their level of training.
Today, people have degrees but they are tucked in briefcases because there is no use for such. We currently have many graduates who are roaming around as hawkers as there are no jobs.
The opportunities for work are way fewer than the number of people who studied for such jobs. Through the joblessness and suffering that has befallen graduates, many are not willing to seek the same education as they fear they may suffer the same fate.
People believe education no longer has value. Anyone with access to funds would rather use it as capital to start a business. There is a need for the Education ministry to look into such concerns as we develop the quality of training.
