Covid-19: Kenya vaccinates 125,248 people, the highest in a day

Kenya has recorded the highest Covid-19 vaccinations in a day at 125,248, the Health Ministry has said.

So far, some 8,018,413 vaccines have been administered across the country, with 11.7 per cent of adults fully vaccinated.

On Friday, Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe said another one hundred and thirty-six people had tested positive for the coronavirus disease, from 4,895 samples conducted in the last 24 hours.

The country’s positivity rate is now 2.8 per cent, with 255,932 total confirmed cases and 2,879,290 tests conducted since the onset of the disease in 2020.

The country has also lost some three patients to the coronavirus, pushing the death toll to 5,342.

Eight patients have also recovered from the disease, “with six discharged from the Home-Based Isolation and Care program while two were discharged from various health facilities countrywide.”

Further, a total of 203 patients are currently admitted in various health facilities countrywide, two in the ICU, and one patient is in the HDU.
