Nyota Ndogo is the latest celebrity to venture into the spicy market, having launched her own chilli brand.
The Watu na Viatu songstress has never shied away from trying her hand at business and has previously operated eateries in her Voi hometown.
“Congratulations to me. I now need customers from you guys. It costs Sh200. I have different flavours from ripe to unripe mangoes, tamarind, and soon I will have passion fruit. Deliveries can be done anywhere,” she posted.
Nyota says the name Nyota Ndogo Jikoni Chilli came after the success of her hotel. "At the eatery, people have been asking about it, with some customers wanting to buy it. After that, I pondered the idea for a while before deciding to go fully into it,” she told TNX.

Nyota Ndogo explains that it was not easy at first, as people were surprised to see her cooking. Naysayers added to the rumour mill, claiming she was broke.
“The truth is, I wanted to do a musical project, but I wasn’t fully prepared, and I didn’t have a good team at the time to help me push it. So, I decided to invest in the eatery. Before that, I had been conducting online cooking classes, and when my fans suggested I start a restaurant, I went ahead with the idea. Many came to confirm if it was really me cooking.
"Now, with the chilli products, I wanted to add something to the brand, and that’s how it came into being,” she shared.
Nyota says since posting last week, orders have been streaming in, and she is now in talks to have the condiment sold in supermarkets across the country.
“I’m happy because the response has been overwhelming. I’ve sent orders all over Kenya, from Eldoret, Nairobi, and Kisumu to Malindi. Soon Nyota Ndogo Jikoni Chilli will be everywhere,” she stated.
