Kathy Kiuna looks back at the 30 years she lived with the late Allan Kiuna

The late Bishop Allan Kiuna and Kathy Kiuna

JCC Kenya preacher Kathy Kiuna on Thursday looked back at the 30 years she lived with the late Bishop Allan Kiuna, describing him as a beautiful soul.

Kathy said her husband was a kind, loving and visionary leader who was full of wisdom.

Although she was sad that they were no longer together, she was thankful to God for blessing her with such a man.

“My throwback is just amazing . Today I'm just grateful to God for giving me 30 years with the best soul that ever lived.

“I am so humbled to have been the one God chose to give such a husband. So absolutely loving, selfless, generous, kind, humble, peaceful, leader, visionary, bold, hard worker, driven, knowledgeable, full of wisdom, fun fun fun. The list is endless,” she wrote.

Adding: “Even as I miss him terribly I’m still grateful to God because He can do no wrong.”

Bishop Kiuna knew he was going

During Kiuna’s memorial service at Faith Evangelistic Ministries, Karen, in July this year, Kathy said Kiuna often talked about ‘going home’ but his family and close friends were not ready to accept it.

A tearful Kathy said Kiuna even said people were coming for him and she asked him to send them away.

“I am usually easy with the microphone but this is very hard on me…When he (Allan Kiuna) first took me to you (Prophetess Teresia Wairimu), I was a 24-year-old young girl and he never told me he was bringing me to you. He took me to ‘mum’ when I was in shorts. She (Teresia) looked at him and told him, this is the one. He had taken other girls before…but she had rejected everybody else until she saw me.

His health issues began in 2018 but when he did the bone marrow transplant he got well and was given a clean bill of health until 2021 when he started feeling some pain in his leg. At the end of 2021, again, he was cancer-free and then in November 2023 we were called and told Kiuna was cancer-free.

We were so happy and we called all our spiritual children…I called everyone and told them we would have a Thanksgiving service on December 10.

When he started getting unwell in February 2024 I was wondering, God, what’s going on? What is this? In March and April he preached powerfully in church…the last message he ever preached, he did a demonstration that was out of this world and we will never forget as Jubilee Christian Church. He handed the mic over and as I held it he told Robert, ‘Let’s go’… and they walked out and that was the last message he ever preached.

 The late Allan Kiuna

He knew he was going but I think we could never accept it and God knew He could not even try to come to me to ask me whether he (Kiuna) could go because He knows the answer. My best friend? I have been with him more than I have been alone. I do not know how to do life without this man. I need God, I need his angels, I need the Holy Ghost…I need all the hosts of heaven to help me walk this journey because it is hard. It’s tough mum (Teresia).

He (Kiuna) said, 'I wanna go home'. And he was saying it in front of Pastor Andrew and me…I said, listen carefully. ‘You are already home’…and one day he said, ‘they are coming’. I said, ‘Tell them to go’. He stopped saying it because we were fighting it but it reached a point he did want to go."
