Popular Kenyan radio host Mike Mondo is finally hitched. The radio personality, who earlier this year hinted at settling down, has tied the knot with his fiancée, Shiko Nguru.

On Wednesday, Mike and his fiancée went to the AG’s office and officiated their wedding. These details became public on Friday, as he narrated to Mwalimu King’ang’i during their morning show on Classic FM.

“I made a promise to you that before 2024 ends, I would get married. So, it was done,” said Mike.

“We went to the AG, officiated it, and afterwards went to a nice lunch at Sankara,” he added.

Mike, known for his deep, husky voice, often stands in for Maina Kageni on the Maina and King’ang’i show. Earlier this year, he had announced plans to make significant changes in his life.

In an interview with a local media house, Mondo revealed that he aimed to get married and improve his financial situation. He also shared that he was ready to settle down and focus on his career.

His relationship with Shiko Nguru has been under public scrutiny, as many internet users expressed divergent views.

Some disapproved of Mondo's choice to be involved with a woman who has children with another man. Others criticized the couple's tendency to share intimate details of their relationship on social media.

Despite the backlash, Mondo and Nguru continued to showcase their love on social media platforms.

Back in 2022, Shiko Nguru split with her baby daddy, Rama Oluoch. The couple first gained prominence in 2019 when they live-streamed the birth of their child on YouTube.

Their breakup was drama-free, and Rama even took to his Instagram account to state that he would not tolerate any disrespect directed toward the mother of his children. Shiko shared bits of her journey with fans amid the split, revealing that she would be moving away from their shared home in Kilifi and returning to Nairobi.

The couple’s family-oriented YouTube channel, The Green Calabash, was also deleted. Rama discussed the split in-depth during a September 2023 interview on The Crib Sheet Podcast.
