Hundreds of Nairobians recently lined up at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre to sample free condoms and sex drugs made in China.
This happened during a three-day China-Kenya Industrial Capacity Cooperation Exposition held in Nairobi.
Stands and tents were erected to showcase goods from various sectors, among them transport and housing sectors. But a majority of the visitors were excited by the sex products.
It was not long before the Chinese ran out of free condoms and sex enhancing drugs courtesy of Hongyang Pharmacy by the second day of the event.
“Our products have been in the market for 23 years now, even though we are yet to open a shop locally,” said Benson Kamau, a Chinese interpreter manning the sex products tent.
According to Kamau, their tent was the most visited, dispelling fears that the Chinese rubbers were not meant for foreigners.
“Our Chinese condoms are designed to fit African men. But at the moment, our customers cannot find these products here because they are yet to undergo evaluation and testing by the relevant government bodies,” added Kamau.
“We are using this expo to test the market before launching our products, and so far, so good,” he said.
