Cities Assemblies of Nairobi and Kisumu lost their opening preliminary volleyball men's matches as County Assemblies Sports Association (CASA) games entered the second day at Kabarak University on Tuesday.
Nairobi were beaten 2-1 (25-18, 29-27 and 14-25) by Tana River in the first Group C match before Makueni picked a 2-0 (25-18 and 25-21) over Kisumu in Group F in one-sided matches.
CASA chairman Peter Imwatok assured teams of fair officiating throughout the tournament.

Hosts Nakuru inflicted more injuries to Kisumu in another Group F match after thrashing them with two straight sets of 25-16 and 26-21 to sound a stern warning to all their opponents in that group.
Makueni picked their second consecutive victory from a two straight win over Laikipia of 25-18 and 25-21 to inch closer to the last eight in the round robin series.
In the football matches, Turkana shocked Kisii with a 2-1 victory in an evenly contested match.
