Viral Nairobi comedy group Heha Movers has received a life-changing gift: a quarter-acre piece of land and support to build a house in Malindi.

The surprise was reportedly organised by the group’s manager, content creator Nicki Bigfish, together with Naff Mwangi, the CEO of real estate company Hyssop Properties.

The gift was announced during a company event in Malindi. Videos shared online showed members of the group, including their human resource manager, crying with joy after learning about the surprise.

The land is said to be located along the Salagate Bypass in Malindi and is valued at about Sh 299,000.

Besides the plot, the team was also shown a house design and given funding support for their future home, which they have nicknamed “The Heha Mansion.”

Nicki Bigfish said the gesture was meant to reward the young creatives for their hard work. He also said it was a way of uplifting them after some people online stereotyped them because of their background in Kibera.

Heha Movers began as a comedy idea among young people from Kibera, Nairobi. Before becoming famous, many of them were part of Kibra Laugh Industry, a local group that created online comedy content.

The group first tried different sketches, including jokes about web design and digital marketing companies.

They later created the Heha Movers idea, where they dress in oversized suits and act like serious executives of a moving company.

Their videos became popular because they mix corporate language with Nairobi street humour. Led by their self-styled CEO, Mr. Wahio, they jokingly promise to move homes, mount televisions, repair cars and even cook for clients.

The clips quickly spread on TikTok, Facebook, Instagram and YouTube, attracting millions of views.

Their online success soon turned into real business opportunities, including brand deals with companies such as Hass Petroleum and Al Siddique Motors.

Heha Movers’ journey shows how creativity and consistency can change lives.
