Twenty-six patients have recovered from the coronavirus, according to the Health Ministry.
“Seventeen patients were discharged from the Home Based Isolation and Care program while nine are from various health facilities countrywide,” Health CS Mutahi Kagwe said in a statement.
The country’s total recoveries are now 317,534.
On Wednesday, some thirteen people tested positive for the disease from 4,625 samples conducted in the last 24 hours.
Kenya’s Covid-19 positivity rate is now 0.3 per cent with 323,319 confirmed cases and 3,482,807 tests conducted so far.
The death toll remains 5,647.
Further, “thirteen patients are currently admitted in various health facilities countrywide, while 96 are under the Home-Based Isolation and Care program. One patient is in the ICU.”
Kenya has also administered 27,535 vaccines in the last 24 hours, and a total of 17.4 million vaccines so far.
Only 29.3 per cent of the adult population is fully vaccinated.
The Ministry however highlighted the need for more people to show up for vaccination.
“We have been able to do very well in ensuring that Kenyans countrywide are protected against this disease. However, this is not good enough. If we are to contain this disease from in-country, we must ensure all our people get vaccinated.”
