Kenya has so far administered 8,189,322 Covid-19 vaccines across the country, the Ministry of Health has announced.
Of these, 4,928,719 have been partially vaccinated while 3,260,603 have been fully vaccinated.
The uptake of the second dose among those who received their first dose is 57.3 per cent. The proportion of adults fully vaccinated was 12.0 per cent as the government works towards vaccinating 27, 246,033.
Total vaccines the ministry has received to date stand at 10, 704,690.
Covid-19 numbers
Kenya also recorded 149 new Covid-19 cases in the past 24 hours, from a sample of 2,280 raising the country's caseload to 256,484.
In a statement on Monday, Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe said the new infections take the country’s positivity rate to 1.1 per cent and cumulated tests conducted so far to 2,891,893.
Out of the new patients, 68 are male, whereas 81 are female, with the youngest carrier being a one-year-old, and the oldest aged 97.
Of the new cases, one is a foreigner while the rest are Kenyans.
Distribution
In terms of counties distribution, Nairobi County recorded 123 cases Machakos 13, Mombasa 3, Kiambu 2, Kajiado, Kericho, Kitui, Nakuru, Narok, Taita Taveta, Uasin Gishu and West Pokot one case each.
Kenya’s Covid-19 toll rises to 5,349 after one death was reported from the virus in the last 24 hours.
Total recoveries now stand at 248,551 after 36 patients recovered from the disease in the last 24 hours with 10 from the Home-Based and Isolation care programme while 26 patients are from health facilities across the country.
Of the total recoveries, 200,546 are from the Home Based Isolation Care programme while 48,005 are from various hospitals countrywide.

Admitted
A total of 175 patients are currently admitted to various health facilities countrywide, while 843 patients are on Home Based Isolation and Care.
Two (2) patients are in the ICU, both of whom are on ventilatory support. No patients are on observation.
Another 46 patients are separately on supplemental oxygen with 45 of them in the general wards while one patient is in the High Dependency Unit (HDU).
