It is a win for Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya after a court struck out a petition challenging his chief officer nominees.

A month ago, a High Court stopped the vetting of 11 people that had been nominated for the position pending the hearing of a case challenging the list.

Stephen Kiplagat Rotich, a resident of Trans Nzoia, had argued that the list of nominees lacked regional and tribal balance.

Justice Joram Abuodha struck out the petition directing that Rotich did not indicate whether he had written the memoranda carrying the same message to the county assembly, the vetting institution.

The judge indicated it was too early for the petitioner to raise the complaint because the vetting committees were yet to commence their work.

The 11 nominees who will be vetted are Kennedy Etiang (Public service management), Sammy Sichangi (Office of the Governor), Dorothy Nyukuri (Water and Environment), Philip Kapten (Lands), George Mwangi (Public Works), Emmanuel Wanjala (Health Services), Jane Wachwenge (Education), Ashton Mulupi (Finance), Patrick Osoro (Agriculture), Isaac Ndiema (Trade) and Roselyne Nasiebanda (Gender and Youth).
