Renowned radio personality Maina Kageni was yesterday discharged from Aga-khan hospital following corrective surgery on his foot.
During a conversation with presenter Nick Odhiambo who stepped in for Maina in the show, his co-host Mwalimu King'ang'i was happy to report that Maina is in good health.
Speaking of Maina's stay at the hospital, he said that the hospital took good care of Maina that one would be forgiven to think that he was in a hotel. That, plus the high security he was accorded allowing no one without prior clearance to visit him.
He was quick to add that maybe the hospital visit is just what he needed as he has been banned from alcohol for the next year to a accelerate the healing process.
Maina was known for having his whiskey double neat with his meal.
"The show will now be beginning at 4am with praise and worship. I can foresee him starting a church," King'ang'i joked.
"I wonder what will replace his famous quote, 'I need a whiskey'," said King'ang'i of Maina's famous saying whenever things got thick on air.
