Waziri wa usalama wa ndani George Saitoti ametangaza vita dhidi ya kundi la kigaidi la Alshabaab, ambalo limesababisha kuenea kwa hofu katika maeneo ya ufuo wa Pwani. Katika siku za hivi karibuni wanachama wa kundi hilo wamekuwa wakihusika katika visa vya mashambulizi na utekaji nyara, kisa cha hivi karibuni ikiwa ni kutekwa nyara kwa watalii wawili. Saitoti alisema kuwa mashua ambazo zitashukiwa kuwa za kundi la Al-shabaab na zitakazopatikana karibu ya ufuo wa Kenya zitatakiwa kujitambulishana kisha kuchunguzwa, la sivyo mashua hizo hazitakuwa na budi ila kuzamishwa.
