As I have mentioned in my previous articles, fashion drives culture not because they are just intricately connected, but also because culture defines fashion.
It’s a complicated yet interesting mutual connection; and that’s what my Wardrobe Wednesday is about this week: Stepping out in the African dress.
We will focus on the strapless peplum dress made from Ankara fabric.
The African print fabric has for a long time be seen as the basic traditional African dress . But this fashion-Kitenge as we know it, has evolved and is no longer the boring outfit that we saw it to be in the nineties and early 2000.
ShiningOnemedia photography and Judy Nkirote our model this week bring on board some ideas of how you can hype that Ankara look with some distinct style. She rocks it in the strapless peplum dress
This outfit emphasizes the shoulders and collarbone, and draws attention to a slim waistline and is ideal for night outs and black tie events.
Oh...wait find the right shoe that will compliment the look.
