Many times, opportunities show up all around us but most people fail to recognise them. Have you continually missed out on opportunities and blamed others for your failures? This year provides you yet another opportunity to succeed.
Success is built on realised opportunities, dependent on an individual’s effort and level of commitment. It is one thing to see an opportunity and it is another to recognise the same and take it up.
Below are some tips that have been proven on how to ensure you succeed this year in order to live, love and thrive because you deserve it!
1. Recognise the opportunity
If you recognise an opportunity as timely and relevant, grab it. Remember that opportunities do not show up in a beautifully wrapped package but rather in various sorts which are not recognisable easily.
Do not ignore presenting opportunities, be sure what you desire, describe it so that when it shows up you will not need any clarifications, you will know for sure that opportunity has presented itself!
2. Your attitude
Your attitude defines and determines your level of success. If you are a pessimist and you have a negative attitude, then success will be fleeting. However, if you are optimistic and you have a positive attitude, you will most certainly achieve success. It is said that your attitude determines your altitude.
Our attitude is often determined by our level of self-esteem and the confidence we have in who we are. Self-esteem is our view of who we are; the perception we have of ourselves. If it is positive, we become self-confident as a result and work easier towards our goals.
3. Hold yourself accountable
Holding yourself accountable means you actually set out to achieve that which you desire to conquer, so go for it; whatever you desire to achieve work towards it and do hold yourself accountable and remember to involve your accountability partners, mentors, and cheerleaders. Set some SMART goals. (Specific, Measureable, Attainable, Realistic goals with a Time frame).
4. The power of the written word
Words have power beyond measure; it helps to write down your dreams, wishes, thoughts and ideas. Consider investing on a journal this year, to map your journey, where you will write all your aspirations, thoughts and strategies of implementing your plans and intended journey towards success.
Thoughts reside in our minds if not put into ideas they remain there unutilised; get writing, typing, talking and recording, whatever works best for you, go for it. Writing makes your thoughts tangible, they become alive and eventually translated to a vision, mission, and eventually successful ventures.
5. Make it happen
To succeed in what you have set out to do, focus on making it happen. In order to do this you may succeed easier by aligning yourself with like-minded people who will hold you accountable, push you and mentor you along the journey.
Acknowledge and identify your passions, be clear the direction that you want to go and find someone who has succeeded in that area. In order to manifest your goals and truly bring them to fruition, you require commitment, courage, support and encouragement.
Whatever you do, don’t allow yesterday’s failures to stand in the way of your success. Acknowledge you are solely responsible for your pathway to success and take it with courage with zeal, energy, determination and purpose.
