Two teaspoons of baking powder
1/2 teaspoon of salt
One cup milk
One egg
Two tablespoons melted butter
Additional butter or cooking oil for the pan
Instructions:
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. In a separate bowl, beat the egg and then add the milk and melted butter. Whisk until well combined.
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. It's okay if there are a few lumps. Let the batter rest for about 5 minutes while you preheat a non-stick pan or griddle over medium heat.
Once the pan is hot, lightly grease the surface with butter or cooking oil. You can use a ladle or measuring cup to pour the batter onto the pan. Cook until bubbles start to form on the surface (about 2-3 minutes).
Flip the pancake and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes, or until the pancake is golden brown on both sides.
Remove the pancake from the pan and continue with the remaining batter. You can keep the cooked pancakes warm in a slightly heated oven while you cook the rest.
Serve the pancakes warm with your favourite toppings such as maple syrup, fresh fruit, or whipped cream. Enjoy!
