We all want to be healthy and feel confident. We set different goals and targets that we want to reach by end of each year.

When we think of health goals, we are more inclined to relate it to obesity and weight loss. It’s usually about getting rid of excess weight by swapping unhealthy foods for healthy ones, drinking weight loss teas, taking weight loss supplements and having a strict workout routine.

On the flip side, we have those who struggle to increase their weight. There’re not too many products focusing on healthy weight gain so it can be quite the struggle.

But the great news is, you don’t have to focus on off the shelf supplements. There are so many ways that you can gain weight naturally in the comfort of your home.

Eat more food

I know, I know, you’ve probably heard this a million times but I promise, it’s the most effective method for weight gain. Your calorie intake needs to be more than what you burn. The surplus of calories is what will enable you to gain weight. If your calorie intake is the same throughout, your weight will stay the same. Snacking in between meals is also a key step when it comes to weight gain. The extra snacking will help you with surplus calorie intake as well. Stock up on things like peanuts, almonds and drink some healthy smoothies and shakes that are very simple to make.

Eat protein rich foods

As you eat more, ensure that you opt for healthier choices. Foods that are rich in protein will help you do just that. Eat more of eggs, red meat, fish, beans and other protein rich foods. These will help you gain mass rather unhealthy fat.

Top up your meals

Adding something extra to your meals is also what makes a whole difference. Adding things like olive oil to your salads, avocados to your meals or even peanut butter to your vegetables will really help with the weight gain process. The good thing is that as you progress, you can get creative and make recipes that you like. Make these small adjustments and you’ll definitely start to see some change.

Opt for whole foods

Many of the foods we consume these days are super refined. The result of this is that we barely get any nutrients from the things we consume. The next time you go for shopping, select whole meal bread instead of white or brown bread and buy whole milk instead. They will provide your body with the best nutrients and help you gain weight in the process.

Exercise

Working out is good for the body and soul. You shed off any unhealthy weight and replace that with healthy mass that’s stronger. At the same time, working out will increase your appetite. This will help you reach your weight goal faster. Get into a workout routine that you like in the comfort of your home. Also, observe the calories surplus rule while you work out to avoid losing more weight.

If none of these steps work, there could be an underlying condition that may need medical attention. Also, being skinny doesn’t necessarily mean that you are unhealthy. It could just be your genetics.
