Janet Mbugua's debut publication 'My First Time'

A household name and brand herself, Janet Mbugua, is our #WCW of the week. As a respected former news anchor, the media personality is using her fame to create a platform that empowers women.

The gender equality advocate is the founder of Inua Dada Foundation, a foundation targeted at uplifting and empowering the girl child. On her already impressive roster is Better 4 Kenya. This is a group that is aimed at advocating for gender equality to make Kenya better for not only women, but for everyone.

More recently, the mother of two boys broke into the book publishing front with a publication titled My First Time. The book narrates memorable stories from different people about periods, a widely stigmatized topic. This red paperback book certainly needs to be on your wish list, as well as a nice gift for a loved one this upcoming holiday season.

Janet is definitely a force to be reckoned with. You go girl!

Looking pretty and preppy in a pink, pleated A-line skirt
Start them off young: the mother of two boys is an example of a positive female figure that her sons can admire
Pretty in pink: nothing screams 'lady!' like balloon sleeves and a fancy hat to 'top' it off
Hair envy: Janet can confidently rock her real locs because, well, who wouldn't if they looked this healthy?
Family affair: She is a testament to the fact that you can be every woman, its all in you
Body goals: for a mother of two, she has certainly snapped back!
