Blender lemonade is based on the idea that you can blend up a whole lemon (instead of just sqeezing the juice out) with some water, sugar, and ice and have a nice glass of cold lemonade in under 5 minutes.
The result is an opaque lemonade with a foamy top that tastes very close to the real deal. Here’s my version of the nutrient-packed drink.
What you will need:
2 lemons
500ml water
1 cup ice cubes
1/4 cup granulated sugar or sweetener
A few fresh mint leaves
Kiwi fruit for garnish
What to do:
Cut your lemon in half lengthwise, then cut each half into quarters lengthwise so you end up with eight lemon slices.
Cut off the pith from the centre of each wedge, then remove the seeds out with your knife.
Place your lemon slices in a blender. Add two cups of water, a handful of ice cubes, and some sugar. I used 1/4 cup of granulated sugar, but you could use more or less depending on your taste (or even try a liquid sweetener like honey or sugar syrup).
Add the mint leaves and give it a good blend, ensuring the lemon is completely blended. Slice the kiwi, then drop the slices in the glasses or jars.
Add extra ice cubes in the glasses then pour the lemonade in the glasses.
If you wish, you can sieve the juice but if you like it chunky, just go with it the way it is. I promise you won’t believe how refreshing this drink is.
Serve it cold right way.
