What book or movie had the most impact on your life?
‘Life is like a box of chocolates’ and ‘Run, Forrest, Run!’ are two unforgettable lines from the 1994 movie Forrest Gump, starring Tom Hanks.
I’ve watched the movie through different stages of my life. First as a child (and many times after that) and most recently as an adult. The things that caught my eye at each stage of my life when I happened to watch the movie again were diverse.
As a child, I was most inspired by the scene where the main character, Forrest Gump, overcomes his inability to walk without braces and discovers he is actually a very fast runner.
As a the teenager, I found myself enthralled by the beauty of the main actress Sally Field (who I actually met when I was 15 – long story). I wanted to be Sally.
Although this isn’t the movie that influenced me the most (honestly, I don’t know which one did), it is one movie I will not easily forget.
