Now that we’ve been asked to self-isolate and work from home, it’s easy to just lay in bed, place your laptop on your lap and get typing. I will confess that I have considered spending the day in my PJs since I don’t have to be anywhere. But, as I discovered after years of working from home, your productivity grows exponentially when you get up, take a shower, get dressed, and sit down at your desk (or dining table).

The advantage of working from home is that you can get away with wearing anything your heart fancies be it jeans, sweat pants or a shirt dress. You don’t have to adhere to a dress-code. And if you happen to have a conference call, all you need to do is ensure that your top is clean (and descent) and that your hair and face are put together.

Below are some outfit ideas to keep you looking sharp even as you work from the comfort of your home.

Pair you jeans or jeggings with a simple top and oversized jacket (Photo: Instagram @pasi_koetle)
Sweat pants are a stay-at-home favourite. Get adventurous and opt for bright colours (Photo: Instagram @pasi_koetle)
Shirt dresses come in varying lengths and can be dressed up or down (Photo: Instagram @pasi_koetle)
Pair your pants with an oversized sweater loosely tucked in for a stylish, comfortable look (Photo: Instagram @pasi_koetle)

Take your white jeans out for a spin. Best part is that they won't get as dirty since you're indoors (Photo: Instagram @mihlalii_n)
Cargo pants are huge at the moment. A fitted pair will contrast well with an oversized t-shirt (Photo: Instagram @mihlalii_n)

If you could choose any age, to stay in for the rest of your life, which would it be?
