Lately, there has been a huge campaign to embrace natural beauty. Some make up brands have gone a step further to create products whose aim is to give you a “natural” make-up look.

The rules of what is and what isn’t acceptable when it comes to beauty are numerous. Some of these “rules” have been around for so long that it’s nearly impossible to know their origin.

Keeping this in mind, when photographer Ben Hopper created the “Natural Beauty” series, it got mixed reactions. The London-based photographer captured women with unshaved armpits, saying that women didn’t need to shave their armpits to be considered beautiful.

'I don't want to say that I want women to start growing their armpit hair, I just think that it's a possibility and people shouldn't dismiss it.'

There have been claims that the unshaved look has been propagated by brands that sell shaving equipment in a bid to increase their sales.
