The minister delivered at Auckland City Hospital through induction. Becoming the second New Zealand government minister to give birth to a baby in 2018, after Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern.
Ardem also made headlines because she returned to her leadership role after only six weeks of parental leave.

Genter who is 38 years old, posted on 10th of August on social media that she was “40 weeks + 4 days” pregnant and “still waiting” to deliver.

Since she announced she was pregnant on February with a cute post, she has been inspiring pregnant women with the benefits of cycling and using ecological transport through her Instagram photos.
