American singer Selena Gomez and Nigerian Afro-fusion star Rema are gearing up for Calm Down remix.
The Love You to Lose Me singer shared news of the collaboration on her Instagram after posting a video of herself meeting Rema for the first time. Selena beamed excitedly about the upcoming collaboration set to drop on Friday, August 26.
In the video, Selena, who met Rema while on his world tour in Los Angeles, said she was honoured to do the Calm Down remix, describing the song as 'fun.'
Rema couldn't hide his joy meeting the award-winning singer and actor, saying he was "literally shaking" while hugging Selena.
"An all-new version of @heisrema 'Calm Down' is coming 8/26-so excited for this one," she captioned the video.
Rema followed suit by posting the single's cover art on his Instagram stories and captioning it, "Calm Down with @selenagomez out this Friday! I can't wait."
The collabo announcement comes weeks after a snippet of Selena kissing Rema on his cheek during his "Rave & Roses" world tour went viral on social media.
The upcoming collabo with Rema will be the first time Selena has released a song since her "Let Somebody Go" collaboration with Cold Play in October 2021.
Rema's hit song Calm Down is the second single from his debut studio album "Rave & Roses", with the World Tour taking him across the U.S., Europe, Africa, and Australia.
His lead song from the studio album "Soundgasm" peaked at No. 15 on the Billboard U.S. Afrobeats Songs chart.
