International online retailer Jumia marked their first anniversary with pomp and unveiled a new set of products, now available in the market.
From fashion and lifestyle products to food and taxi services, the Internet-backed online retailer announced the rolling up of over 50,000 items available to its users.
The event was also a handover to Jumia former director Nick Miller and Oscar Bore who saw the firm launch from nothing to what it is now.
During the glitz ceremony held in Nairobi, the firm also launched its J-Force Marketplace, a B2C move to empower more African entrepreneurs to sell online at Jumia.
“We are confident that JUMIA will continue to grow and bring new products and services to our users while continuing to empower entrepreneurs in Kenya through our Marketplace as well as salesforce platforms.
“We look forward to growing along with Kenya and cannot thank our users, suppliers and employees enough for supporting us and helping us achieve the growth and success we have achieved today,” Parinaz Firozi, the Jumia Kenya managing director said.
