Gospel singer Erica Campbell ,one half of dynamic Gospel duo Mary Mary has received an unexpected amount backlash stemming from a promotional photo taken for her forthcoming solo debut album, “Help.”
In the photo taken for her album cover, the singer is wearing a form-fitting white dress, which has been deemed as ‘too sexy’ by some members of the Gospel fraternity.
The singer, in a quote from an interview with Essence.com said that it was “about confidence and realizing that God made you and that you are beautiful just the way you are." She also added that “young girls shouldn't only get sexy images from people who are not proclaiming Jesus. But I am. And I'm cute too."
