Tributes pour in for former KTN journalist Rita Tinina

The Kenyan journalism community is in mourning following the tragic news that former KTN journalist Rita Tinina has passed away.

Police confirmed that Tinina's body was discovered at her Kileleshwa home on Sunday afternoon. The cause of her death is still being investigated.

Tinina, who was expected to be on duty at NTV, did not report for work, raising concerns about her whereabouts.

The news of Tinina's passing has elicited heartfelt tributes from colleagues, fans, and Kenyans across the nation.

Ngond'u Kiarie lamented the loss, stating, "The news of Rita Tinina's passing has left us profoundly saddened. An exemplary journalist, dedicated to informing, educating, & inspiring others. Her commitment to excellence set her apart & her impact on journalism will be felt for years to come. May she rest in peace!"

Dennis Itumbi shared his memories of Tinina; "Safiri salama Rita Tinina. In journalism, you remain a great journalist. Despite representing major stations while I worked for smaller media houses, your humility stood out as we covered events together."

Issac Kalua also paid tribute, saying, "Gone too soon..... Rita Tinina, a beacon of journalistic excellence, unwavering dedication and passion for storytelling left an indelible mark on the hearts of many."

Ken Aseka recalled working with Tinina, highlighting her talents: "Heartbreaking. Rita Tinina was a rare breed in the newsroom. Roho safi. I had a chance to work with her at KTN News. I loved her scripting. Flawless. Fare thee well."

Dennis Ouma referred to Tinina's death as a significant loss, stating, "A big loss to the journalism fraternity and our country Kenya."

Eduh Maks reminisced about Tinina's reporting style, "Rita Tinina is dead. I really enjoyed her voice and watching her report news from various parts of the country with zeal and energy back when she was working for KTN. May she rest in peace."

Silas Jakakimba praised Tinina's journalistic abilities, "RITA TININA had a near-inborn journalistic depth and experience which easily made her transform her reportage into a story package."
