During the Grammy Awards, Jay-Z made waves by calling out the Recording Academy and shining a spotlight on what he sees as snubs against his wife, Beyoncé.

Accepting the Dr. Dre Global Impact Award alongside his daughter, Blue Ivy, Jay-Z took a trip down memory lane, drawing parallels to the 1989 Grammys boycott.

Revealing his personal boycott in 1998 due to DMX's omission from nominations despite significant success, Jay-Z shifted the focus to the Recording Academy's treatment of Beyoncé.

Despite holding the record for the most Grammys, Beyoncé has never clinched the Album of the Year award, a point that Jay-Z emphasized with a mix of affection and frustration.

"I don’t want to embarrass this young lady, but she has more Grammys than anyone, and never won album of the year,” said Jay Z as reported by CNN.

He underscored the irony in the Grammy Awards' own metrics, remarking, "Even by your own metric that does not work. Think about that, most Grammys, never won album of the year, that doesn’t work."

Adding another layer to his speech, Jay-Z delivered a powerful message to his fellow artists, stating, "Some of you will go home tonight and feel like you've been robbed, some of you may get robbed, some of you don't belong in the category."

He then capped it off with a candid admission: "When I get nervous, I tell the truth."
