Kenyan singer Bahati has officially paid dowry for his wife Diana Marua after living together for seven years.
The two were blessed by their in-laws in the colourful ceremony as they gear up for their wedding slated for later this year.
This was part of seven unique surprises Bahati had lined up for Diana as they celebrated their 7th anniversary.
"It's official!!! I have finally done @diana_marua dowry payment and our dad Mzee Omach has blessed us to proceed with the wedding arrangements."Diana didn't expect this but I was so eager to formalize our marriage before the official anniversary date this coming 20th October... This was a surprise...gift no.5 the best so far but tomorrow's gifts 6 & 7 will be proof that she's the queen of my life," wrote Bahati.
Diana, on her part, was thankful for God's blessings as she looked back at her past and the difficult patches she went through before attaining fame.
She recalled how meeting Bahati changed her life and how supportive he is as a partner.
"When you look at me, you see a Lucky girl but you don't know what it has taken for me to get here. I've faced alot of tough times growing up, I didn't finish school because there was no money, begging landlords to give us a few more days was the order of the day, we had a book of Mkopo, kwa duka that we would pay monthly and that was normal for us.
"I met @BahatiKenya and I dropped everyone because for once, my heart beat differently. The moment I knew we were dating, he has never let go of my hand. You see Gifts, you see me being crowned but all this has taken ALOT of Hard-work, Perseverance, Commitment, Apologizing when your wrong, we've wiped each others tears, Submitting even when I can't stand him, leaving everything and prioritizing someones emotions when we're down, encouraging each other even when we can't see the light of day... the list is overwhelming," she wrote in part.
In a recent interview posted on her YouTube channel, Diana said she is grateful to God for allowing Bahati to enter her life because he has transformed her in different ways.
She also said that their solid foundation has come in handy in their union and she never has issues submitting to him even when she is making slightly more money.
"Even right now I can say I am making slightly more than him. It fluctuates, yes, but there is a time when his music is doing well and he has shows here and there and makes a decent amount.
"When things are not okay on his side and I am making more, I still humble before my husband regardless of the amount of money in our respective bank accounts," she said.
The Hatutaachana singer said prior to meeting Bahati she had dated rich men but most of them wanted her to be a 'trophy wife'.
She explained that Bahati was different and would even preach the gospel to her when they went on dates.
