Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has assured the nation that his relationship with President William Ruto is healthy.
Through a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter), Gachagua said the Head of State understands what he is capable of and that is why he entrusted him with that role.
"President @WilliamsRuto and I are joined at the hip. We talk on a daily basis. My relationship with the President is top-notch.
"He has mandated me with a great responsibility because he understands my output. We shall continue working for Kenyans until the end of our term," he wrote.
Gachagua also opined on the recent cabinet reshuffle saying it was necessary for effective delivery of services.
While some CSs might have looked at their new roles as a demotion, the DP said the changes were in good faith and the government has a responsibility to serve the people.
"President @WilliamsRuto just reorganised his team for effective delivery of the services. There is no one who was removed from office. There is no need to read too much into the President's reshuffle.
"I kindly ask those who were given new mandates to work with diligence and commitment and ensure that their work is visible to the public," he wrote.
The DP also rubbished talk that leaders from Central Kenya are at loggerheads, accusing the media of creating non-existent rifts.
He vowed to be at the forefront in uniting 'the mountain' and to ensure they all read from the same script.
"The UNITY of the MOUNTAIN The mountain is stable, peaceful, and united as before. It is the media that is trying to portray a rift between the leaders of the mountain.
"I will lead from the front in ensuring that the leadership of the mountain continues holding together and will bring on board every leader from the region," he said.
