American rapper Fabolous has been bashed by a section of netizens for blaming his blurry photos on Africa's 'poor WiFi connection'.

The rapper, who on Thursday performed at Nairobi's Sk8city, Diamond Plaza II, had earlier posted photos and videos he had taken in New York when one user poked fun at him.

"Whose Android took these?" he asked.

Fabolous responded by saying, "Could be my WiFi, I am in Africa right now lol."

This comment did not go down well with Kenyans who reprimanded him for looking down upon Africa and Kenya in particular.

The rapper was reminded that the country had welcomed him with open arms and he ought to have shown some degree of respect to his fans.

Here are some of the comments:

Leilani: Africa is a continent and Kenya is a country, why would you blame your picture quality and put it on the WiFi, for a guy with one hit song we know in Kenya that was so disrespectful, black supremacy is so ironical say it you are in Kenya and not Africa.

Makami: You can't disrepect africa and kenya in particular that welcomed you and is paying you,go back where you came from.you don't deserve to be here.and dont come back mr one hit wonder.

Wanjiku: I came here for the 'I'm in Africa could be my WIFI! Huyu arudishwe kwao Asap. How dare he disrespect Africans like that.

Seradoyo: So Africa doesn't have wifi ungebeba yako kwa mgongo its KENYA!!!!!!!

Speaking on his maiden trip to Kenya on Kiss FM, Fabolous said he was honoured to be in the country and was impressed by the reception he got.

"It was a long trip but I'm happy to be here, it's my first time here in Nairobi and in Kenya, I wanted to come and see the country and see the people and perform for you guys, I'm honoured to be here.

"They picked me up in a Maybach. I wanna see you as much as you wanna see me," he said earlier on Thursday.

Commenting on Hip Hop as a genre and whether it will fade with time, Fabolous was confident that it will continue to grow as it sparks a unique kind of energy.

He also praised Afrobeats saying artistes like Burna Boy and Wizkid are popular in the U.S.

"I've been to two to five countries on this trip and heard afrobeats, the sound, and the music is speeding all over. In America, people like Burna Boy, and Wizkid, music has touched the states."

"I am more in tune with some of the music and I discover more African music every day," he said.
