Bahati's baby mama Yvette Obura has been on the receiving end of criticism after an unnamed online user screen-recorded one of her TikTok live videos where she spoke about Kenyan celebrities being harassed by fans when spotted on the streets.

In the video shared on TikTok, the user questioned why Yvette considered herself a celebrity, yet according to them she is not one.

Giving her side of the story, the businesswoman explained that she wanted to share her opinion at the beginning of her live before turning on her comments to allow interaction but the user who posted missed her explanation.

"If you were on my live on Sunday, when I started the live, I figured let me remove the comment section, say what I want to say and then open them for us to interact. There is a particular user who screen-recorded my live sharing and made it seem that I said I am a celebrity. If you were in my live you know very well I said, I am not famous, I am not a celebrity for the 1,000 and so people who were on my live," she said.

With the sharing of the screen recording, Yvette was exposed to trolling by critics who called her ugly and all other sorts of names.

"This person did what they do, they had their own reasons. Okay, so that resulted in people who were not even on the live abusing me and calling me names, saying things like do you have a spare face or that's all you have, calling me ugly..." she said.

Yvette said that she was taken aback by the fact that it was mostly women who went out of their way to make her feel bad and bring her down. In her explanation, she now understands why most public figures jump at any opportunity not to interact with some fans.

"The women who were not on that live came and opened their hearts to what they have always wanted to say about me. It now makes sense why public figures don't want to interact with some of you guys because of all the misunderstanding and bullying you subject them to because you don't take your time to question where is this claim coming from? I'm just so shocked by women. Overall I thank God for my looks. Whether to you I'm ugly or not, whatever was said, Inshallah and good vibes," she concluded.
