Omanga hits out at content creators for chasing clout hours after Eric Omondi's arrest

Millicent Omanga has hit out at content creators who chase clout.

Former Nominated Senator Millicent Omanga on Tuesday hit out at content creators for chasing clout.

Omanga said some of them are trying so hard to seek relevance and praise.

"It is simply clout chasing, some of our content creators are overdoing content creation for the sake of gushing praise," she wrote.

Her statement came just hours after comedian Eric Omondi was arrested outside parliament buildings.

Omondi, who was in the company of shirtless men, protested against the high cost of living and sought an audience with legislators.

The men carried placards written "Stima Juu, Unga Juu, Mafuta Juu, Taxi Juu" lamenting the tough economic times.

They demanded to meet National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetangula to air their grievances and they were heard chanting "bado mapambano".

Police officers manning the building, however, arrested some of them and hurled teargas to disperse the group that had disrupted traffic flow.

Omondi, who spent the night in cell, later wrote, "It is darkest before dawn. Today we spend the night on the floor in the dark but tomorrow the sun will rise."
