Attackers chop off man's transformer in Kiambu

NEWS

Fear has gripped a village in Kiambu county after a man was attacked by unknown assailants and his private parts severed.

Residents in Nderu village Limuru constituency where the incident happened said they are now living in fear over the incident and called on the authorities to arrest the culprits.

Eyewitnesses said the man was found bleeding on Monday morning and writhing in pain.

They said the victim had injuries on his face and hands when they rushed him to his home to help him change clothes.

It was however when helping him change clothes that the good Samaritans realized that the victim had injuries on his private parts. They immediately took him to Ndeiya Health Center.

The medics at Ndeiya Health Center dressed the man's wounds and referred him to Kiambu level 5 hospital for further treatment.

Ndeiya sub-county police commander Rosylin Mnyolmo said that they received the reports of the attack and caught up with the man at the hospital.

Mnyolmo added that the victim looked intoxicated in the morning and that they are pursuing critical leads in a bid to arrest the culprits.

"We have not made any arrest so far, we are awaiting our counterparts from the DCI to come and comb this place for evidence," Mnyolmo said.

A medic who attended to him at the nearby hospital confirmed that the victim had injuries on the face, hands and his private parts.

Paul Ngigi, one of the good Samaritans who took him to the hospital, said that Nderu village has been witnessing increasing crime with men targeting drunk men in the center at night to sexually assault them.

"This is a new trend here that is steadily gaining momentum, men here have been keeping quiet after being sexually assaulted by unknown assailants, this was previously a trend in nearby centers but Nderu was exceptional, Ngigi said.

Ngigi said that the victim had his leg amputated last year and he looked intoxicated meaning the assailants took advantage of his situation and weakness to attack him.

"We are sure the attackers' intention was to molest him and they were successful since the man's resistance was minimal if his condition is anything to go by," Ngigi added

Jack Matiru said that they have heard of men being molested but they have not heard of dismembering their private parts.

"This is the first one here, we fear this is the work of a cult otherwise it's abnormal for anyone to cut off someone's testicle after an attack. We have been keeping silent after several sexual attacks and now the criminals have gone overboard, we call on police to reign on these perverts," Matiru said.

Matiru said that since the incident men are now deserting the sleepy town as early as 7 pm to avoid possible attacks.

Matiru added that a cap was recovered at the scene and called in the police to quickly interrogate.
