Kenyan rapper King Kaka is grateful to God for restoring his health and will release an album titled '2nd Life' as a form of thanksgiving.
Through social media, the Hera Onge singer said there has been tremendous improvement in his health over the past year and most of his fans are still in disbelief.
"See God!! It's been 12 Months +, that's me on Frame 1(still can't believe it) and that's me now on Frame 2. Almost everyone I keep meeting asks if I am better now. Yes I am! All the prayers and everyone who had a hand in my recovery asanteni sana," he wrote.
He also stressed the importance of giving thanks ahead of the release of the album in December.
"One promise I made was to give gratitude, something we often take for granted. Inspired by what I've been through I am officially announcing my next body of work , my 5th album Titled #2ndLife that drops this 24th December. I am excited , genuinely excited. 17 Music Videos!! Weuh 17! The journey begins. We release the 1st one this 20th. Asanteni for loving me over the many years."
In 2021, the rapper opened up for the first time about a misdiagnosis and illness that made him lose 33kgs.
At the time, he said he was not in pain but doctors could not point out what the problem was.
His wife Nana Owiti later shared that Kaka's illness and subsequent healing changed her approach to life.
Through a post on social media, she recalled the nights of pain and uncertainty as her husband battled a condition, the numerous calls she made to her pastor and how prayers restored her strength.
"I will be honest ever since King got sick and was healed, I had a spiritual awakening. It felt confusing. As a family, we were shaken right as it was happening and we had only one place to run to and that was to God!" she shared.
