Ivy Chelimo, the lady behind Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua's now popular nickname 'Riggy G' has rubbished claims that she dumped her 'boyfriend' soon after meeting the DP.
A Twitter user identified as Alvan Kirui claimed that the content creator had dumped him following advice from her parents.
"This will always be my favorite picture I took of you. I can't believe your parents can advise you to leave me at my lowest. You know I love you, just remember all I've been doing for you, Ivy," he captioned Ivy Chelimo's photo on Twitter.
Chelimo has now come out to address the claims that she terms baseless.
"Please I do not know anyone by the name Alvan Kirui and I have certainly not been involved with the person claiming in any way whatsoever!! Disregard any information circulating regarding the same," she warned.
The claims come just a day after Chelimo was given a job by Gachagua.
The DP, who was presiding over an event marking the World Food Day in Kajiado County on Monday, October 17, announced that Chelimo will now be working in his office.
"The young lady watched me during the deputy presidential debate with Martha Karua [Azimio la Umoja running mate] and thought my name was a bit difficult. She then decided to make it a little melodious and crafted Riggy G. I have looked for her and awarded her a job opportunity in my office," said Gachagua.
On her part, Chelimo said Gachagua had contacted her on Monday morning with the offer.
"The Deputy President called me today (Monday) morning and made a statement saying 'until when will we tell the youth that they are the leaders of tomorrow yet they are not giving us spaces to take up opportunities in government.'
Gachagua had previously asked his sons to look for Chelimo and offered to give her some cash.
