David Mwaure, Agano’s presidential candidate has warned nations that host stashed monies that he will go after them.

He had earlier this month written to the United Nations and fifteen other countries to start getting the alleged money back into the country.

He has however not received any correspondence following his request.

“I have not had any response from these countries, but our 100 days already started. They are listening and we’ve got good will from out there…we’ve got great friends from out of Kenya,” he said.

Mwaure is on record saying that he will cut diplomatic ties with countries that do not work with him or his government.

“Why can’t it be done? If a country is holding our money, it knows that it is supposed to be Eurobond money, or it is money from SGR?” he posed.

How can you refer to a nation as your friend? What I know is that a lot of countries have been willing to send back our money, it’s only that there has been no good will with the current leadership, the immediate past and the leadership that wishes to be recycled,” said Mwaure.

According to the Agano leader, everything is on the table.

“Kenya needs to move forward. There has to be hard measures, but I can tell you it won’t need to get there. Bring our money back is our campaign,” he said.

When probed further, including money stashed in the United States and the United Kingdom, Mwaure said he will not relent in going after those countries.

“Oh yes, everybody! I am telling you 99 per cent of these countries have wanted to. What we have missed in this nation is leadership and good will. A leadership which says ‘let’s do it.”

Mwaure Waihiga was the only candidate who appeared for the first tier of the Presidential debate at the Catholic University of Eastern Africa. He was due to face off with Prof. George Wajackoya of Roots Party who arrived at the venue but later left saying he would only participate if all the four candidates shared a podium.
