Fast-rising 17-year-old singer TJ Mario Kasela alias Trio Mio has dispelled rumours that he sat for the just concluded Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examinations.
Setting the record straight during an interview with content creator Eve Mungai, the Cheza Kama Wewe crooner explained that he is still in school carrying on with his studies.
“All those rumours are false, they are all lies. I still show up at school,” he said.
This comes a few weeks after word went round that the singer had scored a mean grade of D in KCSE.
“Kenyan rapper Trio Mio has scored a D 2021 KCSE with an E in Maths and Chemistry,” read the post.
Responding to the post, Trio Mio’s mother, Irma Sakwa stated that the claims were false adding that her son will be joining form four this year.
“Trio is yet to sit for KCSE, he will be joining Form Four this year. He is also not homeschooling as said, he attends his school normally. There was that consideration but we saw we should just let him finish his studies,” she said.
Homeschooling?
A lot of questions have come up following Trio Mio’s ability to focus on his music whilst in school.
Putting the matter to rest, the rapper stated that he was a full-time boarder and was not being homeschooled as many believed.
He however refrained from giving details of how he is able to attend numerous out of school functions while the school was not on break.
“That’s my business, don’t worry yourself so much about it. I will still be going to school. I don’t home school, I’m still a boarder. I’ll go to school later on,” he said.
In December 2021, Trio got the opportunity of a lifetime to perform during former Prime Minister Raila Odinga’s Azimio la Umoja convention.
Honouring the invite, Trio Mio took the liberty to invite his fans to join him at the event.
“I will be at Kasarani in a function of none other than Baba (Raila). Come and listen to the big announcement that he is going to reveal that special day. Kama kawa, yeye hapangwingwi...yeye ndio hupangana,” he said.
