In an exclusive interview with Standard Entertainment, Khadija Kopa, the celebrity mother of sensational Tanzanian singer Zuhura Soud aka Zuchu, has revealed how she introduced her daughter to Diamond Platnumz on their first day of meeting.

In an interview with Standard Entertainment, Kopa spoke candidly on how she introduced Zuchu to Diamond after returning home from India, where the ‘Sukari’ singer was pursuing her education.

A celebrated singer, Kopa revealed that Zuchu almost got signed by a Nigerian music stable before she introduced her to Diamond.

“Zuchu was pursuing her studies in India. However, when she came back she told me she wanted to be a musician. Since childhood, she has been winning awards from all manner of music competitions in school. I urged her to finish her studies first, get a degree then we can discuss about her joining the bandwagon,” Kopa told Standard Entertainment.

“But before she even got her first degree, she won another award in music and many recording labels in Nigeria sought her to out, but all she wanted was to get signed with Wasafi Classic Baby (WCB).

“We both went to Diamond after she finished school, introduced her as my daughter and asked Diamond to hold her hand and help her where necessary, and now we have Zuchu as a whole brand,” she said.

“Everyone in my family is talented in music including my four children. In fact, my first born, the late Omari Kopa was a Bongo artiste, second born Makopa is a gospel artiste and third born Black Kopa sings both gospel and Taarab. Zuchu now is a Bongo flavor artiste. Music is our God given talent. It runs in our blood,” Kopa added.

Asked why she didn’t introduce the other three to Diamond, Kopa said that they had never bothered to ask unlike Zuchu.

“They have never asked me. It is only Zuchu who did. Mtoto akililia wembe mpe. Zuchu aliniomba nikampeleka. For the rest, I am still trying to find other record labels that can help them grow their music career,” she responded.

“Nilimpeleka kwa Diamond nikamwambia amsikilize, amfanyie interview basi akifaulu amshirikishe kwa mambo ambayo utakuwa unayahitaji. Diamond akasema sawa akamsikiliza akanipigia simu akisema kwamba anafaa kwa hivyo mwache hapa (I took her to Diamond and asked him to interview her. He called me saying she qualified and that I should let him sign her,” Kopa revealed.

Ironically, Diamond’s mother Sandrah has been vocal asking her son not to marry Zuchu. She even claimed Zuchu’s family had bewitched her son with black magic.

However, Kopa has downplayed the matter, maintaining the two have no differences.
