Nairobi CBD to go without water for 24 hours

The Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company (NCWSC) on Wednesday announced that it would shut down water supply along Uhuru Highway due to the construction of the Express Way from 6am Thursday, 15th July 2021 to 6am Friday, 16th July 2021.

“This is to facilitate the interconnection of the relocated new and old water pipelines on Uhuru Highway between Haile Selassie Avenue and Bunyala Road junctions with Uhuru highway to enable the release of the road corridor to the Expressway road contractor,” read the public notice in part.

Areas to be affected include:

The whole of city centre Areas along Mombasa road, South B, South C and their neighbourhoods University of Nairobi main campus, Coca Cola Factory, Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, EPZ-Athi River The whole of industrial area Areas along Jogoo road: City Stadium, Maringo, Bahati, Buruburu and the surrounding estates.

Residents of the said areas have been asked to use water sparingly before normalcy resumes.
