Popular socialite turned businesswoman Vera Sidika yesterday went live on Instagram to prove to her persistent fans that she is not pregnant. According to the Vera Sidika Beauty Parlor founder, a section of obstinate online users have been bombarding her with questions about her supposed pregnancy and why she has been in hiding.
In an attempt to hush the widespread pregnancy rumour, Vera appeared on her Instagram live dressed in a crop top flaunting her flat tummy for doubting Thomases.
“Those who caught the IG live, well and good, those who didn’t pole, my speaker is faulty couldn’t stay on live for long, was only showing my tummy. Hope all of you have facts now. There is no pregnancy anywhere. The day I get pregnant I will personally announce it here myself and post 1 million pictures. Why should I hide just because I’m pregnant?” she wrote.
The Veetox founder went on to refute claims that she already has a child that she sent the child to stay with her mother.
“When did I ever get pregnant to begin with? All of you are crazy. If I ever had a child he/she would be all over my IG. I love kids. I’ve never been pregnant in my life before. And my mum would never let that happen. Ati I live my life and leave the child with her. Why? Yet I have a house and can get up to 10 nannies if I like. There is no shame in children,” she added.
Curious social media in-laws consequently demanded to know when she will decide to have children. “I have been in more than two relationships. No child is a choice, until one is ready and with the right person,” she responded.
Speaking of former relationships, due to the ties developed while dating her former Tanzanian lover, Jimmy Chansu, Vera was accused of not mourning Tanzania’s late President John Pombe Magufuli appropriately. The attack came after Vera went on to post a picture of herself the night after it was announced Magufuli had passed on.
In her defense, Vera stated that no one should dictate how another person grieves, but most importantly, life goes on.
“Tanzanian’s on my comment sections though… So because the president passed away I should not post a picture? Surely? I posted R.I.P on my Instagram stories last night and guess what? Life has to move on. In fact, nobody has to post anything to show they are mourning. You can mourn in silence and can also choose not to mourn,” lamented Vera.
Adding: “Nobody should force anyone to express grief. Should we put our lives at a standstill because Magufuli is dead? I beg, if I planned to post, eat, dance, party, I’ll still do that, life goes on. Everyone will die someday. So y’all commenting, ‘Stop posting ass Magufuli is dead we are mourning,’ if you don’t like my pics ignore or just unfollow.”
