Emphasizing friendship, the importance of respect, need for support and the value of encouragement for lasting companionship, Julie added that there is comfort in laughter, prayer and understanding of each other.
“22 years of love. It's not about a day of romance or material things. It is about friendship and respect. Laughing together. Praying together. Understanding each other, well. Supporting and encouraging each other. Comforting and strengthening each other. Respecting each other. Love is not static; it is a continuous series of actions that feed a state of being. Wishing you deep and lasting love. Happy love day!” wrote Julie.
The former news anchor has never been shy to publicly credit love as the foundation of their marriage. On their 17th wedding anniversary, the mother of five revealed that her husband was ‘an answered prayer’.
“Mr G, we did this babe! I am so thankful for the husband and father that you are. I honour you my Simba! *Where we stand our Mwaura is always with us. Dear Lord, as a girl, when I went on my knees to pray for your guidance and protection, you heard me. You are our alpha and omega and we honour you. To God be all the glory,” she wrote.

A message she echoed from her previous post: “Let me say something else. I love and respect my husband. In my home, my husband is the king. He will come home and feel happy and feel comfortable and he will make me feel like a queen. If you are in a family where two people are not getting along, sometimes the difficult decision, especially for children is to say maybe we don’t jump maybe we need to step back.”
