Tanzanian pop star Juma Jux, whose real name is Juma Mussa, arrived in the country last night (February 11) ahead of the mega 'The Finest' concert slated for the weekend in Kiambu.
After landing at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, the singer - who was accompanied by his management team - received a warm welcome with ushering models offering him flower bouquets as heavy security was accorded to him. “Kenya is an amazing place. Here, you receive all love,” a jubilant Juma Jux said, exuding confidence that Kenyans will enjoy the show.
The talented star and lady charmer, known for his hit songs among them Utaniweza and Sio Mbaya, will be teaming up with Kenya’s Otile Brown, Samidoh and Nikita Kering in a much publicised Valentine’s bonanza dubbed The Finest, a two-day gig that will be held at Evergreen Gardens in Kiambu. This is the first time the talented singer is performing in Kenya since he released his Regina hit, a collaboration he worked with Otile Brown last year and one that is expected to be a major highlight during the Saturday and Sunday event.
Also featuring celebrated radio host and top emcee Maina Kageni as well as Crème de la Crème who is arguably East Africa’s best deejay, the event is set to liven the entertainment industry in Kenya after a long slumber. It is part of the many events lined-up for the weekend that are seen as a catalyst to the return of big entertainment events in the country.
Speaking to Standard Lifestyle & Entertainment, deejay Crème de la Crème said he was excited about the gig saying this was a sign that things are getting back to normal after a year of ‘dry spell’ a situation occasioned by Covid-19 pandemic. “I am personally happy that things are getting back to normal and that we can see action coming back showbiz talking. The Finest show is one many party lovers are looking forward to and I can assure you that I am hitching to bring out my ‘A’ game there come the weekend. Trust you me, this will be a gig like no other,” said Crème de la Crème.
It is also the first major gig the young and up and coming Nikita Kering is performing at. Last year, the singing beauty released three hit songs; Better than Ever, Never Let You Go and Where You Been. The 17-year-old has been branded Kenya’s singing idol of international repute and has so far won a number of accolades among them the Pulse Music Video Awards (PMVAs) Best New Artistes category. The event will be held under a huge dome that had been erected at the venue yesterday. “Come rain, come sunshine we are set for all types of weather,” one of the organisers commented.
