Britney Spears 'doesn't hold grudge' against Justin Timberlake after Cry Me A River

Britney Spears 'doesn't hold grudge' against Justin Timberlake after Cry Me A River.

Britney Spears allegedly doesn't hold a "grudge" against her ex-boyfriend Justin Timberlake. Fans of the 39-year-old star took to Twitter and threw hate at Justin, 40, on Friday night after a recent documentary called Framing Britney Spears aired on TV that explored their romance. But an insider told US Weekly that she doesn't want her fans to "release the hounds" on her former lover as she "doesn't hold a grudge".

The source revealed: "Britney has been on the receiving end of so much hate through the years, particularly on social media. She would never want her fans to release the hounds on Justin. Hate isn't going to solve anything, regardless of what happened in the past."

They continued: "Britney does not hold a grudge against Justin over anything he's said or done."

Britney does not "dwell" on the fact their relationship ended and feels that "they were young and in love and both did stupid things when they were together", it's claimed.

The pop princess is said to be "happy and happy for him now".

It comes after fans of Britney demanded singer Justin, 40, apologise to the star for the way he handled their breakup in light of the recent documentary. Justin was accused of "tarnishing" her appearance after they famously split in March 2002.

As a teenager during the height of her fame, Britney was sexualised after publicly declaring she was a virgin. And later throughout her adult life, she was bombarded with interviews about her whether she had remained a virgin during her romance with Justin.

After they split, Justin seemingly accused his ex of cheating on him with the release of his Cry Me A River video - which included a lookalike of Britney who appeared to reap the aftermath of infidelity. However, the songstress continued to maintain she was still a virgin, but her ex suggested otherwise during interviews after their split.

In the documentary, Britney was seen as the one responsible for the split and even journalist Diane Sawyer, who interviewed the star, asked her: "What did you do?"

Following the documentary airing on Friday night in the US, viewers took to Twitter to have their say and accused Justin and Diane of stirring things up.

"Justin Timberlake laughed and got 'revenge' in cry me a river ...Britney had to go on TV with Diane Sawyer and break down crying in an interview after they broke up...That s**t would NOT fly in today's culture. #FreeBritney," one commented.

Another shared: "Nasty a*s old people asking a teenage Britney all the time if she was a virgin. How big her boobs gotten. And Justin Timberlake publicly announcing that he took her V card!!! The s**t she went through."

"I think it's time for @DianeSawyer to issue a public apology to Britney Spears," a third shared.

But on the other hand, some fans jumped to Justin's defence, explaining that he was also young at the time of his split from Britney.

"All this Justin and Britney s**t was way too much for two young ppl. They were way too young for ppl to have so much expectations and so much judgement. #FreeBritney (sic)," they penned.

And another said: "Am I the only Britney fan who also loves Justin Timberlake? I get he should have apologized for things he said but sometimes if the two parties involved have no ill will, doesn't mean we have to put ourselves between their issue. She has moved on."
