The music mogul, 55, - who boasts an impressive net worth of Sh87 billion - and Nicole cited irreconcilable differences as they filed for divorce.

Dr Dre has agreed to pay his ex-wife Nicole Young $2million (Sh219 million) to cover her living expenses as their bitter divorce battle comes to a close. The music mogul, 55, - who boasts an estimated net worth of $800million (Sh87 billion) - and Nicole, 51, cited irreconcilable differences as they filed for divorce in June, effectively ending their 24-year marriage. Now the musician will hand over $2million to cover her expenses for the next few months until they can agree on a final figure, The Blast reports.

Dr Dre - whose real name is Andre Romelle Young - is set to pay her the lump sum as he continues to recover in hospital following his life-threatening brain aneurism. The hip hop mogul's lawyers agreed to Nicole's terms at a Los Angeles courtroom on Wednesday as he continues to be on bed rest under the watchful eye of doctors and nurses. Meanwhile Nicole's lawyer Samantha Spector has stated that Dr Dre still needs to pay Nicole's security fees as previously discussed. Nicole will be "making the payments in good faith for the continuation of the hearing."

The estranged couple share two grown children; son Truice, 24, and daughter Truly, 20, - meaning that child support won't be an issue. The pair's next divorce hearing is scheduled for April 14, where Nicole is able to ask for Dr Dre to reimburse her expenses, as well as negotiate a final number. It comes as the music legend was rushed to hospital by ambulance and was taken direct to intensive care, where he is being treated. Dre has now addressed his fans directly with an update posted on Instagram.

He paid thanks to the medical team at the hospital and to all those that had sent him goodwill messages since it was revealed that he was in hospital. The rapper was reportedly "stable and lucid" and he told his fans: "Thanks to my family, friends and fans for their interest and well wishes. I’m doing great and getting excellent care from my medical team."

He continued: "I will be out of the hospital and back home soon. Shout out to all the great medical professionals at Cedars. One Love!!"

A brain aneurysm is a "bulge" in a blood vessel caused by a weakness in the vessel, with the build-up of pressure in the blood vessel can cause it to "bulge outwards like a balloon".
