Kenyan stars to watch out for in 2021

News
Starts to watch out for in 2021.

2020 came with great challenges for many in the showbiz industry, especially with the various government restrictions put in place globally. However, some had good fortunes and made the most of the challenging year. These stars had a good year, and from the looks of it, they are set to rule 2021 in their respective fields.

Nadia Mukami

This 23-year-old singer from Mwihoko Githurai is cementing her position as the queen of Kenyan pop music. She had a great 2020 where she made big moves releasing her well-received E.P. African Popstar featuring artists such as Fena Gitu and Sanaipei Tande. She also got endorsed by Safaricom as a BLAZE mentor due to her successful financial discipline program where she encourages saving culture among the youth and being shortlisted for the Africa Music Magazine Awards (Afrimma) in the Best East African Female Artiste category. If anything, 2021 is set to be the year Nadia Mukami really explodes.

Elsa Majimbo

One of the brightest stars to emerge from 2020 is Kenya's social media sensation, Elsa Majimbo. Her viral Instagram videos feature tight closeups of Majimbo rocking her Matrix-style sunglasses and always showcasing her infectious laugh. In a year marred by anxiety and uncertainty, Majimbo's hilarious videos have and continue to provide joy for millions around the world. With a reach of 1.6 million Instagram followers and partnership deals with the likes of Fenty and MAC Cosmetics, the 19-year-old Strathmore student is proving that when it comes to fame, there are no boundaries or borders. She has received international recognition from the likes of Snoop Dogg, Israel Adesanya, and Lupita Nyong'o. This year is only set to get better for Elsa, who wants to 'change the world for black girls.'
