Celebrated American singer, songwriter and actress Ashanti Shequoiya Douglas popularly known as Ashanti is in the country. The Grammy Award-winning singer shared the fun she is having at the Nairobi National Safari on social media. Ashanti, who is believed to be staying at the luxurious Hemingways Nairobi hotel, seemed baffled by the site of a buffalo at the Nairobi National Park. In a clip shared on Instagram, the superstar is heard saying she is not getting out of the car after seeing buffalo.
“That’s close, I am definitely not getting out,” she says.
It, however, remains unclear how long Ashanti will be in the city under the sun.
Ashanti joins the growing list of international celebrities who have visited Kenya in the past three years. In 2018, American R& B singer Keri Hilson visited Kenya for the first time. Not hiding her excitement, Keri celebrated her time in Kenya via social media.
“15th trip to the continent, 9th country checked off my list, 1st trip to #Kenya! All smiles (even after 23 hrs. travel)! Mambo vipi, Kenya? Mko poa?” she wrote.
