Esma Platnumz opens up about split three months after wedding, 'ex responds'

About a week ago, Diamond Platnumz’s elder sister Esma shocked many after revealing she was single and open to dating again, three months after getting married to her husband Maulid Msizwa.

Speaking on her separation during a recent interview with Wasafi TV, the Tanzanian businesswoman explained that her husband’s sudden 'addiction to social media' was what influenced her decision to pack her bags and leave.

“When I started dating Msizwa, he was not a social media person. I think he was just acting because when we’d take pictures, he would refuse and stay aside. I wanted a gentleman, who is not into photos and social media. When we got married, we started quarrelling because he was too much into Instagram. Imagine when we were dating, he wasn’t an Instagram person. He started changing. I would wake up at 5am and find him on Instagram,” she said.

Owing to their frequent arguments and Msizwa’s sudden liking for social media, Esma narrated that she stopped posting him on her pages but the last straw was when he allegedly reached out to bloggers.

“I stopped posting him on Instagram and he started DMing bloggers to post him. He disappointed me. It means he is inboxing many other people. If I wanted that, I’d look for that. That will destroy our marriage. So I decided to leave him with his Instagram. I wanted my marriage to be private, not out there. I want to live my life and publicize my business. I have spoken to him many times about this but he didn’t listen. That is what he loves. I don’t want him to be fighting with people on social media,” added Esma.

A surprise twist coming months after she defended her decision to settle down with Msizwa as his third wife. “Surely, this is my personal life and the decision I made, I did so by my own will, not to please anyone. People should understand that I love my husband so much. Also, I don’t see the problem with me being married as the third wife because our religion allows it,” she said.

It is not true

Responding to Esma’s claims during a separate interview, however, Msizwa denied splitting from the entrepreneur and explained that he uses Instagram the same way he uses all the other social media apps.

“I have married her, she didn’t marry me. I have my own decisions. It means I am the man in this marriage. Nimeoa, sijaolewa. I can never submit to a woman. I have not divorced her, the decision should be mine... No, it’s not true. I am not into social media,” Msizwa told Wasafi TV. "These things she is talking about are not true. I started using Instagram a very long time, you use it like any other app. She is, probably, just jealous. It is not true, why would I do that? I think she is just jealous because we are apart. I think there are people who want us to separate and she is listening to them.”
